Is there a way to turn off the option of the album having to be approved by an admin at all?

Yes, there is an option in the User's Albums admin menu.

ok i got that part fixed but now its not uploading the images. I have done chmod to the cache folder and the pics folder to 777. But for some reason its not uploading still when you click on the upload button.

i and running v 1.13. this is what it normally says on the file upload before i upload
Album Image Upload
Upload to folder: /home/test/public_html/pc/e107_plugins/sgallery/pics/hm9rdk2qme0c
Allowed filename characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, period ( . ), dash ( - ), underscore ( _ )
and this is what it says after i try to upload

There are no pictures yet in folder: e107_plugins/sgallery/pics/hm9rdk2qme0c/

I think error messaging is broken in some way. I'm publishing RC4 today. It fixes a lot of bugs. Try it and let me know if you still have any problems.
