When I try to install the "Beam" widget I get the following error:
Error Beam Widget requires 0.8 Compatible mod (see Settings). Installation aborted! Ooops - widget can't be installed! Pre-install action failed. Please refer to widget's author for more information. Installation failed!
When I go into settings and enable the "Enable e107 0.8 Compatible Mod" and click save settings I then get the following error::
Fatal error: Class 'e107c' not found in /homepages/29/d21665901/htdocs/e107/e107_plugins/cl_widgets/e_meta.php on line 56
If I cannot switch the compatibility mod on, I cannot install the beam widget. So any ideas on how to fix this problem?
I am using the widget plugin (rc4) which I downloaded from the site at the same time as the beam widget.

Hi, I'll investigate the case. Not sure how is this possible, as rc4 is released long time ago and no one reported similar problem.

A little more background.
I have now installed on 3 sites. 2 do not work (gives error reported above) The 3rd site however installed OK. All 3 sites are hosted by same ISP and I have checked the PHP Info for the working and non working sites and they are identical. They are all using e107 Version 0.7.16 and the same theme currently (Broadsheet).
On the site that works I did get a warning that lightview.bb and lightbox.bb already existed when I went to install the shadowbox widget, but the beam widget went on to install.
Indeed in settings the 0.8 compatability option was already enabled when I went to check it (before trying to install beam widget but after I had installed the shadowbox widget).
What would cause the class not to be recognised?

It could be almost everything. As a start, go to Admin -> DB -> Preference Editor, find all and tell me what value has 'cl_08compat' pref.

Found the Installation problem. The 2 sites had a "featurebox" plugin in the plugins directory, and when this was removed the compat pref changed to 1 and the beam widget then installed OK.
There now remains 2 problems with the beam theme (on all 3 sites).
1. The "Feature Box" function does not work properly when I select the beam theme. The "Description" and "Image Upload" toggle feature "Hide / Show" does nothing. They are permanently hidden. So I cannot get anything in the feature box, to show on the site. [SOLVED - This was due to Bugrains E107-Helper Project plugin being installed on the sites. Once removed the toggle feature works OK and feature Box is active on the sites]
2. If I set the Beam as the "Admin" Theme, then when I go into news, welcome page Etc, many of the boxes (such as date from / to entry, who can see the item, Description Field Etc) are all showing as white text on a white background. Any assistance on this last issue gratefully received.
In the interim I am using a different theme for Admin side so that I can see what is in the relevant boxes.

Only 1 remaining Issue::
If I set the Beam as the "Admin" Theme, then when I go into news, welcome page Etc, many of the boxes (such as date from / to entry, who can see the item, Description Field Etc) are all showing as white text on a white background. This is presumably a css issue but I can't find out where it is happening.
Any assistance on this last issue gratefully received.
In the interim I am using a different theme for Admin side so that I can see what is in the relevant boxes.

Not sure what's solved now (I wasn't around for some time). The last one - Premium themes are not supporting admin interface (and we never claimed they do). Just a suggestion - don't ever use different than jayya admin template. We are talking about e107 v0.7 of course.

OK - Then there are no more issues to my knowledge. Theme now works very well on all 3 sites.
I am happy to use Jayya theme for admin.
