I ran into a problem the other day when I turned on admin approval for user galleries. Users can no longer view their images when in in edit mode for their gallery. They can't pick a gallery image or delete images from their gallery. The problem remains even after turning off admin approval.

Now I see that there is an upgrade available for both the Lab Gallery and the Widget.

1) I'm wondering if I fix the problem and then upgrade or just upgrade and see if it fixes the problem.

2) I've never had any luck uploading plugins via the e107 'upload plugin' functionality. I've always had to just use FTP to drag-and-drop the unzipped files to the e107 plugin directory. On my plugin manager page there is no "CL Gallery Upgrade button" for me to press. So how do I upgrade? Can I just drag-and-drop the upgrade files into the plugin directory and go?

I'd certainly appreciate some assistance going forward. I'm just starting to bring our club's site online and so far the gallery is the site feature the members are excited about the most. They are disappointed that it is now not working.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Try to upgrade first, as you said - FTP upload (overwrite) than go to plugin manager hit upgrade (don't forget to check your widgets for upgrade button as well).
Most important is - BACKUP before you start doing upgrade. I'm not sure which CL Gallery version you are currently using, but there is little chance of upgrade failure if it's too old.

Thank you SecretR.

Please review my notes to make sure that I have the exact process correct...
1) I'll back up the e107_plugins/sgallery directory (v 2.09) on my web server.
2) I'll unzip the lcl_gallery_v2.10stable.zip file on my PC.
3) I'll FTP all the files from the resulting directory from my PC to replace the contents of the e107_plugins/sgallery directory on the web server.
4) I'll go to my plugin manager, look for the 'upgrade' button, and press it.
5) I'll repeat the process for the widget.

Is this correct?

Thanks again,
Andrew

Precisely. Additionally (widgets only) you need to press 'upgrade' on any widget (Administratin - Cl Widgets - Widget List) which has one.

Thanks SecretR. All went well with the gallery upgrade and my problem with users not being able to edit their gallery seems to have gone away. I had a bit of a panic when my images disappeared. I hadn't realized they were in the gallery's subdirectory. I'd always thought they were in a db blob somewhere. Now I know better :-)

But I'm having a bit of a problem with the widgets now (shadowbox). I started a new thread here, in the widgets forum. I would greatly appreciate you taking a look.

Thanks again,
Andrew
