would it be possible to add for the feature the a menue to the latest news, donwloads and forum post to have the latest content there?
Like that the contect gets easely to the front page.
why this idea?
in the company at the moment I have to use joomla and the contect there is a little bit better thatn in e107 and I can push a contect always to the front page to be show.
the luxury would be, that I can decide which content should be shown in menu...

I know what you are talking about. I'm really not ready to support the core content plugin just because I don't like it. What I can do is to do a fContent release (our own content management solution) and integrate it with Beam widget (responsible for the index page tabbed content). The problem is I can't give you a time frame regarding the above. Temporary solution for you would be additional menu area in your index page layout, you could add your site content menus there. Open your theme.php, find the front page layout and add MENU=XXX shortcode, where XXX is unique menu area number. You should be able to see the newly added area on your Menu administration page now.

For forum items get the 'Forum Focus' plugin, via SecretR's new menu suggestion
OK it's not a Freesource one but allows you to choose which forum threads (starting one only) to your front page and adds regular content which Google loves :)

Well, I'm far from the thought that Freesource is the only place in the world where useful extension are offered :) I actually hope we have more community sites offering quality products/services in the future - it's for good for everyone.
