I installed the plugin perfectly fine and it was successful, but then when I go to configure the plugin I get the following error:

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@egnation.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I really would appreciate some help and advice on this error and how to fix it.

I managed to get this working, now my next question is how to get it to appear on the frontpage. I configured it and everything but still no success.

the front page boxes in Slick theme are your current news categories. if you have one or two categories you will have one or two boxes only. also you can control which categories to be shown from Beam widget -> theme settings.
